Therapist Retreats for Helping Professionals in Alberta
Rest. Connection. Space to Simply Be.
As therapists and helping professionals, we spend so much of our lives holding space for others.
We witness pain, grief, uncertainty, trauma, and change. We offer steadiness, compassion, and care, often while carrying our own full and complex lives outside of the therapy room.
Over time, this work can ask a great deal of our nervous systems.
Even when we deeply love what we do, we can begin to notice signs of depletion:
-
feeling emotionally tired or disconnected
-
difficulty slowing down or truly resting
-
compassion fatigue or burnout
-
feeling isolated in private practice
-
longing for more connection with ourselves and others
This retreat was created as an invitation to step out of the role of therapist for a little while and step back into being human.
A place to breathe.
A place to reconnect.
A place to receive care rather than always providing it.
Why therapist retreats matter
Helping professionals often spend so much time tending to others that their own needs quietly move to the background.
Rest can begin to feel unproductive.
Slowing down can feel unfamiliar.
Connection can become difficult when we are used to being the ones holding everyone else.
Yet research consistently tells us something important:
Our capacity to care for others is deeply connected to our own wellbeing.
When we are nourished, connected, and supported, we are better able to sustain this meaningful work over time.
These retreats are rooted in the belief that therapists deserve spaces of care, community, and restoration too.

What makes these retreats different
This is not a training.
It is not a conference.
It is not another space where you need to perform, network, or be "on."
While opportunities for connection naturally emerge, the heart of these retreats is rest.
Together we create space for:
-
nervous system restoration
-
meaningful connection with fellow helping professionals
-
time in nature
-
gentle movement and reflection
-
creativity and play
-
spaciousness and choice
You are invited to participate in as much or as little as feels supportive.
You may join every activity.
Or you may choose a nap, a long walk, a spa treatment, or quiet solitude.
This retreat honours that everyone rests differently.
Our philosophy
We believe that healing and restoration happen in relationship.
Relationship with ourselves.
Relationship with nature.
Relationship with community.
And relationship with the parts of ourselves that often get overlooked while caring for others.
This retreat is an opportunity to slow down enough to listen to what your own system may be needing.
To move away from urgency.
To remember that you, too, deserve care.
Previous retreats
This retreat has been offered annually since 2024 and continues to evolve through community, reflection, and a shared desire to create spaces where therapists can simply be human together.
Each year we gather in beautiful Kananaskis Alberta to reconnect with ourselves, with one another, and with the restorative power of rest.
