Anxiety Therapy in Calgary & Across Alberta
When Anxiety Feels Like It's Always There
Anxiety can be loud or quiet.
For some people, it feels like constant overthinking, worry, or mental restlessness. For others, it shows up as perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, irritability, or a sense of never being able to fully relax.
You might look like you're functioning on the outside while feeling stretched thin on the inside.
If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.
I offer virtual anxiety therapy for adults across Alberta, including Calgary and Edmonton, supporting you in understanding and working with anxiety in a more compassionate and sustainable way.
What anxiety really is
Anxiety is often your nervous system trying to protect you.
It's not random. It's learned. And it often makes sense when we understand your history, relationships, and lived experiences.
At its core, anxiety can be a response to:
-
Feeling responsible for too much for too long
-
Not feeling emotionally safe or supported
Early relationship experiences that taught you to stay alert, take care of others, or worry about losing connection. -
High expectations or pressure (internal or external)
-
Past experiences that created uncertainty or hypervigilance
Your anxiety isn't something wrong with you, it's something that developed to help you adapt, even if it no longer feels helpful.

How anxiety therapy can help
Therapy isn't about forcing anxiety away.
It's about understanding it.
Together, we may gently explore:
-
How anxiety shows up in your thoughts, emotions, and body
-
The patterns that keep anxiety active in daily life
-
What your anxiety may be trying to protect you from
-
Ways to support regulation and grounding in everyday life
-
How relationships and past experiences continue to shape your stress responses
-
How to create more internal safety, flexibility, and ease
The goal isn't simply symptom management, it's helping your nervous system experience more choice, more calm, and greater freedom in how you respond to life's challenges.
What working together looks like
Sessions are collaborative, relational, and paced with your nervous system in mind.
We slow things down when needed. We don't push past what feels overwhelming. Together, we'll work with both your thoughts and your body's responses so change feels meaningful and sustainable, not something you have to force. This might include noticing what happens inside when certain topics arise, exploring recurring patterns, practicing grounding skills, or gently paying attention to how stress and anxiety show up in your nervous system.

What makes my approach different
Many approaches to anxiety focus on managing symptoms by changing thoughts or reducing worry. While these tools can be incredibly helpful, they don't always address why anxiety developed in the first place.
My work takes a different approach.
Through a relational, somatic, and attachment-informed lens, we explore how your nervous system learned to stay prepared, responsible, hyperaware, or protective in response to stress, relationships, uncertainty, and the experiences that have shaped you.
Rather than fighting anxiety, we become curious about it.
Healing happens in relationship. In therapy, we don't just talk about your experiences, we pay attention to what it feels like to be met with consistency, attunement, curiosity, and care. Over time, these experiences can create new possibilities for safety, connection, and responding to life with more choice and less survival.
The goal isn't to eliminate anxiety. It's to help you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more able to respond with choice instead of survival.
Common questions
Can therapy help with anxiety?
Yes. Anxiety often makes sense when we understand the experiences, relationships, and nervous system patterns that shaped it. Therapy can help you better understand your anxiety, feel more regulated, and develop new ways of responding so anxiety no longer has to run your life.
What kinds of anxiety do you support?
I support adults experiencing generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, high-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, chronic stress, burnout, overwhelm, and anxiety related to trauma, relationships, or major life transitions. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, caring, and highly responsible individuals who have learned to carry a great deal on their own. The very patterns that once helped them cope, stay connected, or move through difficult experiences may now leave them feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unable to fully settle. Whether your anxiety feels constant or only shows up in certain situations, you're welcome here.
Do you offer online anxiety therapy in Alberta?
Yes. I provide secure virtual anxiety therapy for adults across Alberta, including Calgary, Edmonton, and surrounding communities. Online therapy allows you to access support from wherever you feel most comfortable while receiving the same thoughtful, relational care.
How do I get started?
We begin with a complimentary 15–20 minute consultation. This is an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about my approach, and see whether working together feels like the right fit. Because therapy is a relationship, finding someone you feel comfortable with is an important part of the process.
